Musical Background & Education

Hailing from Boulder Colorado, Adrian began playing violin at 7 years old, studying the Suzuki Method with Paul Rowinski. He continued his classical studies through the end of high school. As a freshman in high school he began exploring other musical interests, including jazz, rock and other contemporary styles. At this time he was mentored by renowned jazz violinist Christian Howes, who helped him prepare his audition for Berklee College of Music. He attended Berklee starting in 2018. At Berklee he studied with the excellent string faculty, where he deepened his training across jazz and contemporary styles. Graduating in 2023, he has continued his love of learning, taking lessons from Zachery Carrettin, who has helped him to continue to develop his classical technique.

As a performer, Adrian has appeared with ensembles such as the Boulder Symphony under conductor Devin Patrick Hughes and the Tennessee Philharmonic Orchestra. He currently performs with the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra. He was the 2016 Concerto Competition winner of the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestra and has collaborated with artists including Kayko, Jesus Christ Taxi Driver, Pierce Alexander, and others. In addition to live performance, Adrian is an experienced recording session violinist, bringing versatility and musicality to both studio and stage. While violin and viola are his primary instruments, he also dabbles in guitar, bass, drums, and keys, giving him a well-rounded perspective on music-making across genres.

As a Teacher & a Player

As a certified Suzuki teacher, Adrian believes that music is for everyone and that every student can find joy and creativity in playing. His teaching emphasizes building strong, healthy fundamental technique as the gateway to true self-expression on the instrument.

Adrian enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities, and especially values those who are motivated and curious—students who challenge him to grow as a teacher and musician. He is patient, encouraging, and kind, and tailors each lesson to the individual’s goals, whether preparing for auditions, exploring new genres, or simply enjoying the process of learning.

As a performer, Adrian brings the same openness and versatility he values in teaching. Classically trained yet fluent in jazz, pop, rock, folk/fiddle and experimental styles, he feels equally at home on stage with an orchestra, in a studio session, or collaborating with bands and songwriters.

Outside of Teaching

Beyond the classroom and stage, Adrian is an active creator in today’s music world. He produces EDM and electronic music, blending organic and digital sounds in innovative ways.

He also works as a composer and arranger for clients, writing and arranging strings, horns, and full bands for studio recording and live performances. His experience as a player, combined with his versatile skillset in production, writing, and arranging allows him to collaborate across genres and bring a broad, well rounded perspective to every project—whether building a track from scratch, shaping an artist’s vision in the studio, or crafting dynamic arrangements that elevate a song. Adrian is always looking for new projects.

  • The Suzuki Method was developed by Shinichi Suzuki as a way to teach children music in a manner similar to how they learn their native language: through listening, repetition, and immersion in a loving, supportive environment. It’s especially well suited for young beginners (often starting around 3–4 years old), though its principles—such as ear training, constant listening, and gradual, healthy development—can benefit learners of all ages. I start all my beginners with the principals of the Suzuki Method, as I have found no better way to build fundamental technique while progressing through engaging material. Key features include strong parent or caregiver involvement (attending lessons, helping in home practice), delayed reading of notation until listening and technical competence are established, and encouragement over criticism. Because of its emphasis on fundamentals, repetition, musical listening, and character-building, the method helps students develop reliable technical skill and expressive musicality—allowing them to perform with confidence, sensitivity, and joy.

Adrian is a former Suzuki student himself, and has completed his Suzuki Teaching Certification in Book 1 and 2 through the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
